With Century Ambulance set to expand its operations into Broward County, the company has selected industry veteran Jonathan Pauwels to lead operations in the new area of service as the Broward County Operations Manager. In July, Century will open its first South Florida station in Ft. Lauderdale.
Jonathan joins Century with nearly a decade of emergency medical services experience, most recently serving as a Paramedic and Supervisor with an ambulance provider in Miami, where he spent the past five and a half years. In addition to those leadership duties, Jonathan led evacuation efforts for the private ambulance sector during the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport shooting in 2017 and was on a long-distance evacuation team during Hurricane Irma. He was also one of the state’s first Community Paramedics.
Jonathan received EMT and Paramedic Certifications at American Medical Academy in 2010 and 2013, respectively, and Critical Intensive Care Paramedic Certification from Elliot Hospital.
